It has been in our minds for the longest time to come out with our SBTG(ID) program for our website and possibly an iphone app for the past year where customers are able to customize their own color way and add their personal touch to it. Half way through working with the program, our programmer got stuck and we aren’t able to come out with the result. We would be glad to receive help if you have the expertise in this project we are working on! Do contact us at info@royalefam.com should you be interested in developing this with us!

SBTG “Toxic Revenge” by Ivan

Author: SBTG  |  Category: Random

As part of the internship program at the SBTG Academy, a masterpiece was create by 20 year old Ivan Prasetya.

Having assisted on the production of many Chuck Taylor customs, Ivan’s next step was to venture his craft into a dunk using mixed mediums. As a quick and diligent learner with an unspoken desire to learn, Ivan was very quick to master clean lines and very smooth surfaces. Patience is one of his traits, and it really shows in his work.

Ivan successfully designed a digital mockup on Photoshop at his first week in using the graphic software. Basing his design from the SBTG x Methamphibian “Psychoholic Slag” Dunk hi from the Skulls of Saigon series, he switched up the pattern work to his favorite animal print and filled in the cracks with his very own character design named “Kecebong” in a toxic color palette. Having drawn his alter ego for 2 years with a marker, he got over the fear of expressing it through paint and brush on a 3D surface and nailed it at the first try. The work is of high quality and detail, almost print like.

And to ice his cake, he decided to drape the rear with a matte black studded selvage denim cloak. The final product left him extremely satisfied with pride and new realm of possibilities. He is ready for his next shoe!

You guys better be ready for the next Kaws.

SBTG “Model 995″ by JART

Author: SBTG  |  Category: Random

As part of the internship program at the SBTG Academy, a masterpiece was create by 18 year old Jason Lim aka JART.

As soon as the “wax on, wax off” training of prepping and base coating is sufficient, the next training of choice for him was pattern painting.

Having a young & dangerous attitude towards his pattern of choice, he took up the bold challenge of an “untouched” pattern in our history books. The Royalefam signature vine pattern which was derived from the Romanian Parsilia camouflage.

The first try was done on a “test pair” AF1 in black and white so that any beauty or flaws are just screaming at you. Side A was amazing, on point, done in the way that was instructed. Side B was when he got a lil over confident (in a good way) and went freestyle. We sat down and had a chat about it, and both of us learned something new. I learned a very good way to teach my boys and Jason learned about discipline and respect in craft.

Being ready to take on a full shoe, Jason took on the SBTG experience designing his own shoe and painting it all on his own. The end product, titled “Model 995″ turned out to be a classic, armored with sterling silver walls, a tonal “Parsilian” frame and topped up with a perfectly done gradient swoosh.

In his own words, “I’m gonna be the next SBTG” So watch out.
