Today is definitely a fun day where we all did a shoot for our advertisement for Blue Devils. Hooking up with our customer Rohit who drives a Lamborghini, we thought we could shoot ourselves jumping over his car. Attached below are some of the field shots. As soon as we get the video footage from our crew in plussixfive, we will put up the vid! Its definitely tiring warming up for the jump.We also had the blessings of having the President’s Presence while filming the shoot. I mean what are the odds of that? The location and timing…

Also, Rohit is featured in this month’s AUGUST MAN magazine , those interested in Lamborghini’s do grab a copy of it and read his write up!

Well, I got an email from my boy Melvin over at Royalefam.com with some teasers of some new sneakers thats gong to be dropping soon from SBTG. SBTG(Sabotage) supplies the streetwear culture with some high end custom sneakers, graphics and apparel. Check out the teasers after the break along with the sneaker details. The Varsity Bones Drop 3 and 4 line up will be available in October at Royalefam.com.

Continuing the legacy of Black Mamba, the 1- off sneaker specially made for MVP Kobe Bryant himself.

Produced in a way that pays homage to the 1985 style of color blocking sneakers. Blue Devil features stealth rival camo and black panther
print on the rear. This low top version will be made in home and away versions.

A look into a parallel world of an alternate reality brought SBTG to answering the “what ifs” that predominates every baller and fan alike to the question of Kobe’s affinity to Duke. METHAMPHIBIAN AND SBTG PRESENT “DAMAGE INC. + VARSITY BONES”
Throughout history, man has engaged in an eternal battle with one another. From schoolyard fights to full-blown wars, conflict has played a role in the progression of the world. This Fall, Methamphibian and SBTG present their own unique interpretations on this age-old subject with the release of two new sneaker projects, DAMAGE INCORPORATED and VARSITY BONES. The world’s two best sneaker customizers come together once again to lend their unparalleled artistic talents for the opening of the new SOURCE store in Beijing.

DAMAGE INCORPORATED.
DAMAGE INC. is Methamphibian’s fictitious take on a futuristic, politically-relevant “war-for-profit” concept that thrives in a world where war has become big business. A world where war is no longer about territory, ideals or tyranny but has now generated a legitimate economic market where stocks are traded in bullets. Where national militaries are no longer needed but in their place, independent Para-military corporations are called upon to provide their services on per-hire contracts.

DAMAGE INC. will unveil two new limited versions of the iconic Nike Dunk, featuring new hand-painted digital camo patterns and custom embroidered accents. Each model represents a competing Para-military team, both hell-bent on dominating their respective global markets and increasing their own market shares, with their mission objectives coming in second. ‘OBSIDIAN VIPER’ is based on an arctic environment camouflage colorway, inspired by a team that is all about overwhelming strength and firepower, always equipped with the latest in heavy weaponry. ‘Basilisk’ is based on a Black Ops night camouflage colorway, representing a special unit that employs stealth and strategy and uses deadly force from within the shadows.

The collection is a crossover from Methamphibian’s custom 12″ action figure line and will lead to the introduction of new figure characters in the near future.

VARSITY BONES.
VARSITY BONES is the latest chapter in SBTG’s ongoing celebration of the timeless Nike Dunk. Introduced in 1985 through some of the most storied teams in college basketball, the Dunk takes on a new twist with two limited versions that celebrate the underdogs, the misfits, the teams that were never formed and never got to play in the big leagues. The shoes are based on two fictitious rival gangs who love to play basketball but never get picked to play for their schools because of their colorful reputations as delinquents.

VARSITY BONES takes a step back in its aesthetic approach, using clean and simple color blocks to give the shoes a nostalgic 80’s feel. Each design come in 12 pairs only, representing one of the rival gangs who have opposing ideologies. The red and black Dunk is based on the ‘fierce warrior’ persona of the ‘RED FURY’ gang, a group of misfits who insist on settling everything by sheer power and brute force. The black and purple Dunk is inspired by the ‘SLY BONES’ gang, cunning tacticians who believe that manipulation and deception make things more fun. Forever intertwined by their love for basketball, their blood feud rages on.

DAMAGE INCORPORATED and VARSITY BONES will be available exclusively at the new SOURCE store in Beijing this Fall.

This 1 of 1 pair was made in Brooklyn, NYC. circa 2006. They were a gift to Yu Ming from Freshness mag for letting me crash at his place. He loves his safari print and perforation. Again the base sneaker was perfect, red ankle amd red outsole and perforated inner panels.

This pair is a straight up classic panelling much like the old supreme dunk lows, with a classic air jordan colorway.

Asphalt safari print on frame, matte black perforated inner panels with gloss black swoosh, Gold logo!

Sometimes when you are lucky to work on a base sneaker with great construction and components, it is nice to make something clean and basic.

This pair came with black outsole, black ankle lining, black midsole stitching and smooth non-textured leather. This is the best canvas for me.

This was a special request from Eugene of Soleobsession. He wanted something simple and in the colors of his old huaraches. So we simply caged up the 2 colors nicely inside a black frame with a touch of the SBTG signature tiger stripe pattern on the swoosh.

A simple, yet timeless panelling for a classic silhouette.

For A Sister From Another Mother

This pair was done in conjunction with the run we made for the store Qubic in New Zealand.

A 1 of 1 specially made for one of the store owners, Ivy Ong. Who happens to have the same surname as me.

This was quite a tough canvas to work with firstly because of the construction (perforated panels and patent leather swoosh )

Regardless, we managed to utilize it to our advantage.

I’ve always had difficulties making sneakers for the ladies due to the lack of good base shoes out there.

Most of them have plastic and un-paintable surfaces. However these turned out great.

Consisting of Rival camo on toe and lace panel. Qubic lettering printed in Ransom note on rear.
