SBTG “Model 995″ by JART

Author: SBTG  |  Category: Random

As part of the internship program at the SBTG Academy, a masterpiece was create by 18 year old Jason Lim aka JART.

As soon as the “wax on, wax off” training of prepping and base coating is sufficient, the next training of choice for him was pattern painting.

Having a young & dangerous attitude towards his pattern of choice, he took up the bold challenge of an “untouched” pattern in our history books. The Royalefam signature vine pattern which was derived from the Romanian Parsilia camouflage.

The first try was done on a “test pair” AF1 in black and white so that any beauty or flaws are just screaming at you. Side A was amazing, on point, done in the way that was instructed. Side B was when he got a lil over confident (in a good way) and went freestyle. We sat down and had a chat about it, and both of us learned something new. I learned a very good way to teach my boys and Jason learned about discipline and respect in craft.

Being ready to take on a full shoe, Jason took on the SBTG experience designing his own shoe and painting it all on his own. The end product, titled “Model 995″ turned out to be a classic, armored with sterling silver walls, a tonal “Parsilian” frame and topped up with a perfectly done gradient swoosh.

In his own words, “I’m gonna be the next SBTG” So watch out.
